Plenty Of Pictures.....And Worn-out Camera Batteries

Well, I don't have tons to say, but I had quite a few pictures I wanted to upload, so here they are. The first two are of a table runner I made for our spring center-piece. I even hand appliqued and hand quilted it!

This one is a Peter Pan puzzle I recently did. It was 1000 pieces; so much fun! The coolest things is that the characters are hidden in it....like Wendy is in a waterfall, and Hook is in a tree.

These are two birdhouses I painted for our spring center-piece. I really had no ideas when I started, so I just started painting, and I think they turned out very well.

Finally, here are two pictures of my bird (Boondette) after she had her bath. She really is adorable!

Hopefully, I will soon have a picture of a quilt that I am working on. I got some crazy awesome fabric for the back of it today. I wish I could take a picture to put on here, but my camera batteries need to be recharged. So, I'll have to do it later. That's it!

"No lace, no lace, Mrs. Bennett, I beg of you!"

Wow, okay, so it has been way too long since I last wrote on here. Where to start? Why, at the beginning, of course! Haha, anyways....
On the 3rd of March, my parents and I went to Florida for a week. It was so warm and sunny!! I even got a tan! We went to Disney almost everyday; all but Friday. We did Animal Kingdom the first day...it was so cool! I loved how when we went from Africa to Asia, it really seemed like we had changed countries. I also loved the Kilimanjaro Safari. Mom and I went on Expedition Everest for the first time...it was very fun the way that you go backwards, too!
The next day we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. It was my first time and I really loved it. My favorite "ride" was the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. The Great Movie Ride and the Muppet's 3D film were also fun. We went to the Disney Animation Studio there and learned how to draw Dale. It was very fun, and relaxing.
On Friday, we went to the Holy Land Experience in the afternoon and Downtown Disney at night. The Holy Land was interesting, but there wasn't tons to do. My favorite part was the Scriptorium. It was about an hour walk-through of the writing and preserving of the Bible. You went through 14 scenes like Ancient Egypt, a monastery, Johann Guttenburg's printing press, and John Bunyon's prison cell.
Saturday, we did the front half of Epcot, Future World. I have to say that it was rather boring. The rides were interesting, but there weren't many. We tried Soarin'; it was so incredibly fun! We also did Turtle Talk with Crush (from Finding Nemo), Test Track and a few others.
Sunday was Magic Kingdom, and it was so much better than I remembered it to be. I got to meet Peter Pan, and saw a street show with Jack Sparrow! We did Thunder Mountain Railroad, It's A Small World, Pirates Of The Carribean, and many more! I loved the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor, and Mickey's Philharmagic. We, of course, stayed to watch the fireworks
On our last day, Monday, we did the World Show Case in Epcot. That was wonderful. My favorite was Morocco, although I did also love England and Mexico. We did the boat ride both in Norway and Mexico. I bought paper laterns in Japan, and a set of 12 postcards - one from each country. All in all I had a wonderful!
Right, now I am watching the six-hour Pride and Prejudice while I get work done. Mr. Bennett was the inspiration for the title. He said that line, one of my favorites, right as I started this. I just finished reading the book The Visitor by Lori Wick, which is set in England in the same time period as P&P, and Lori used many character names and even some circumstances from Jane Austen's books.
Today is my best friend's birthday. She is 15. I "met" and started writing to her right after she turned 9. I am ever reminded how quickly time flies, and how close my own 15th birthday is! Only 33 days!!!
Well, I believe that is all!

17 Kids!

Well, I'm back from the farm. I got home on Thursday. It is very nice to be home again, with my family and friends, but to say that I simply miss the Phillips and the goats is a gross understatement. I had so much fun, and I learned tons! I even miss the barn chores! Here are pictures of the goats. This one is of Sarah and her baby girl and boys.
This is of one of the baby dairy goats.

This Dottie and her little girl. Dottie is not very nice.

These are two of the adult dairy goats.

This is Crystal's baby girl.

This is Clara's baby girl.
These are three of the baby dairy goats.

I had some interesting experiences. Eight goats had their babies while I was there. We ended up with 17 kids. Barn was filling up quickly. Right when we got to their house on Friday, one of the goats (Clara) was in labor. She was having problems, very serious problems, so we put the goat in the back of their car, drove really fast 20 minutes away to the vet. So in the store-room/office of the vet clinic, two vets struggled for about 30 or 40 minutes trying to get the babies out. Finally, after much struggle, one little girl was born. Then a little boy was born, but sadly, he had already died. That was worst-case, right off the bat for me. I will certaintly never forget it! One of my new favorite sounds is newborn baby goats bleating, because it means they are alive! Well, thats all!

One Last Post In Rochester

Well, I am leaving in about 20 minutes for a week of adventure! First, I am going to Birdsong Nature Trails to feed chickadees; not so adventurous...I've done it many times before. But afterwards, and I going to a friend's house in the middle of nowhere to live on their farm and learn how to kid goats. Yup, thats right, I'm going to be a farmer. I'm excited, and nervous, too. I just wanted to post two more drawings quickly before I leave. The first one is of Kerrian and Neffaru's friend, a fairy, named Kiyomi (Key - yo - me). She looks like she is the same size as everybody else (in fact, I drew here at the same size), but she isn't. Think about a large, maybe 5 inch leaf, and that will give you her proportions. She is very mischievous, and she too like the dragon, only speaks Dutch.

This next one is of Kerrian and Neffaru's friend Eidel, a prim and proper girl. She is very shy and timid, and her name means "delecate", which describes her perfectly.

Well, I've got to run!

Number Twelve Done!!!

Today, since I had the whole afternoon free, I finished Cati's quilt! I really like it; I think it looks very nice. But then I was thinking about how many quilts I have made since I started in August 2007, and I counted 12, including this one!

I also want to say that I had a lot of fun watching the Super Bowl! Last year I went to a youth group party, and it was tons of fun, but since we weren't really doing anything this year, I didn't think it would be very exciting. But it actually was! I watched the whole game, I am proud to say, and I basically understood what was going on! But, while I was sitting there, I decided to do some drawing. So here is what I drew. His name is Seshat, and he is Neffaru and Kerrian's "pet" dragon. He looks kind of evil, but he's really not. I don't know if you can tell, but he is supposed to be bowing....as much as I dragon can. And I know this may be weird, but the only language he speaks is Dutch.

So, there you have it, folks!

Like An Over-flowing Sink

Well, I finally finished the front of Cati's quilt today. After making more foolish mistakes in this quilt than in all my other ones combined, I declared the mistakes to be like an over-flowing sink: they just kept coming. I think I made about 15 mistakes while sewing the front of the quilt; however, I was thankfully able to correct them all easily. This picture is of the center of the quilt before I added the tea-cups.

In other news, I just finished reading a book called The Bell Messenger. It is such a good book! I highly recommend it; it's by Robert Cornuke. One phrase that is repeated through-out the whole book really stood out to me: the Bible is the book that gives life and saves life. Isn't it so true, though? Through the Bible many are saved, and shown what true life is. The book gave me a whole new appreciation for what an awesome and powerful book the Bible is, and how very much the Lord works in our lives through the Bible. Well, that's all for now!

It's A Little Tea-Cup!

Well, I finally started sewing Cati's quilt after my long and blissful break from sewing. It is a tea-cup quilt, and the cups are on shelves. In the center will be some larger blocks. The tea-cup blocks are very fast and easy to make....it only took about 1 1/2 hours to sew 20. So here are some pictures. The first one is my three favorite tea-cups, and the second one is a closer look at the block.

I'd like to have it finished by the middle of February, but I may end up being lazy and procrastinate. So, whatever. I also, drew some more today. This picture is of Kerrian's brother, Neffaru.
They will probably have some really smart pets, too. Maybe a dragon.....well, I'm off to reading!
