New Blog

Yes, I have indeed started a new blog. I'm sure you're thinking that I don't post on this blog often enough to warrent a whole other blog. But if you go check it out (here's the link: http://onceuponalli.blogspot.com/ ) I think you may understand why I created it. Even if you don't, though, I'm still going to have it =). It's an art blog, completely dedicated to my art. I will be posting pictures of my art, and I hope everyone will feel free to comment and critique.
Don't worry, though; this blog will still be used. In fact, pictures from the Virgina vacation will be coming within the next week!

Some More....

Here are some drawings that I have done recently. I got some oil pastels, and so I have been practicing with them. This one is the first oil pastel drawing I did. Don't ask me what it is.....I don't know.

This is an oil pastel anime.....it was interesting.

This is a girl name Kama Hele. She is half-dwarf, and lives alone.

This is Kama Hele again.

This one is a named Jacek. I had a hard time drawing him.......when I started drawing it, it was a female, but that didn't work, so I turned it into a male. It still doesn't look the best.

Finally, this is a drawing named "Patchwork". I was really worried about it when I started, but it think it turned out well.

So those are my drawings.....

One Last Post In Rochester

Well, I am leaving in about 20 minutes for a week of adventure! First, I am going to Birdsong Nature Trails to feed chickadees; not so adventurous...I've done it many times before. But afterwards, and I going to a friend's house in the middle of nowhere to live on their farm and learn how to kid goats. Yup, thats right, I'm going to be a farmer. I'm excited, and nervous, too. I just wanted to post two more drawings quickly before I leave. The first one is of Kerrian and Neffaru's friend, a fairy, named Kiyomi (Key - yo - me). She looks like she is the same size as everybody else (in fact, I drew here at the same size), but she isn't. Think about a large, maybe 5 inch leaf, and that will give you her proportions. She is very mischievous, and she too like the dragon, only speaks Dutch.

This next one is of Kerrian and Neffaru's friend Eidel, a prim and proper girl. She is very shy and timid, and her name means "delecate", which describes her perfectly.

Well, I've got to run!

Number Twelve Done!!!

Today, since I had the whole afternoon free, I finished Cati's quilt! I really like it; I think it looks very nice. But then I was thinking about how many quilts I have made since I started in August 2007, and I counted 12, including this one!

I also want to say that I had a lot of fun watching the Super Bowl! Last year I went to a youth group party, and it was tons of fun, but since we weren't really doing anything this year, I didn't think it would be very exciting. But it actually was! I watched the whole game, I am proud to say, and I basically understood what was going on! But, while I was sitting there, I decided to do some drawing. So here is what I drew. His name is Seshat, and he is Neffaru and Kerrian's "pet" dragon. He looks kind of evil, but he's really not. I don't know if you can tell, but he is supposed to be bowing....as much as I dragon can. And I know this may be weird, but the only language he speaks is Dutch.

So, there you have it, folks!

It's A Little Tea-Cup!

Well, I finally started sewing Cati's quilt after my long and blissful break from sewing. It is a tea-cup quilt, and the cups are on shelves. In the center will be some larger blocks. The tea-cup blocks are very fast and easy to make....it only took about 1 1/2 hours to sew 20. So here are some pictures. The first one is my three favorite tea-cups, and the second one is a closer look at the block.

I'd like to have it finished by the middle of February, but I may end up being lazy and procrastinate. So, whatever. I also, drew some more today. This picture is of Kerrian's brother, Neffaru.
They will probably have some really smart pets, too. Maybe a dragon.....well, I'm off to reading!

Some anime...

A few days ago, I decided that I wanted to learn how to draw anime style, and make characters and have stories and such. So, I went searching on the web for tutorials on how to draw anime, and came up with a few good sites. Well, I tried, and it failed miserably! But, I wasn't about to give up, so I went on to YouTube, and searched for videos on how to draw anime. Lo and behold, there were videos on how to draw everything from anime hair to anime feet! I spent almost an hour watching these; they were so helpful! Did you know that the proportions of most anime characters is six heads high? An interesting fact! So here are two drawings I have done. The first one I did while watching a video on how to draw the bodies; then I gave him clothes, and that mean facial expression. Yeah, I know, he looks like he is ready to beat somebody up, but he's cool.

This next one I did just off the top of my head, and she is going to be one of my story characters. Her name is Kerrian.

So, all in all, I think they turned out pretty well. And I officially love YouTube! Check back soon for more characters!
